Abstract
The present research focuses on the phytochemical screening and antioxidant properties of ginger (Zingiber officinale). The study aimed to identify the major phytoconstituents and evaluate the antioxidant capacity of ginger extracts. Standard phytochemical methods were used to test for alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, phenols, and glycosides. Antioxidant activity was assessed through DPPH and ferric reducing assays. Results indicated that ginger is rich in bioactive compounds with strong antioxidant potential, supporting its traditional medicinal uses. This study highlights ginger’s importance as a natural source of antioxidants beneficial for human health.
