Abstract
ABSTRACTThis study examines the Reward system and employee performance in Nigeria one of the major findings is the challenge of financial accountability. The study adopted taro Yamane to determine the sample size of 271 of 677 population.Questionnaire was the major instrument of data collections;chi-square technique was used to test the hypothesis.The study discovered that Bida Local Government council provides a variety of rewards(e.g Monetary, Non-Monetary, Recognition), to encourage performance.The study therefore,recommended that Pay reward is very potent in motivating employees to put up better performance at their duty posts. Government should endeavour to provide employees with adequate pay reward to facilitate the achievement of desired high productivity.Keywords: Reward, Performance, Monetary, Motivation
