Abstract
AbstractThe aim of the study is to critically examine the effect of environmental on local construction material timber, using reserved forest in ozalla owan west, Edo State.the general objective of the study is to determine the extent to which timber furling affect local construction material, to examine the challenges of local construction material affect environmental in resaved forest of ozalla owan west,, Edo state and to evaluate effect timber consumption, nose, dust and sewage generation on local construction materials for resaved forest of ozalla owan west,, Edo state. The study adopted the survey research design in collecting data, and both primary and secondary sources of data collection method were used in gathering of data, the primary sources was the use of questionnaire, while secondary sources was the used of textbook, journal, article and internet e.t.c. Simple percentage was used to analyze the data and the SPSS statistical tool was used to test the hypothesis. Findings from the analysis revealed that that there are effect of environmental local construction material. And that there is significant relationship between timber furling and local construction material in resaved forest of ozalla owan west,,Edo state. The analysis also revealed that motivation also enhance organizational growth and development. The findings of the study revealed that one of the biggest problems facing local production material is that government did not encourage the local organization objectives and goals. In conclusion state that sustainable building materials are those that are environmental friendly, readily available, durable, maintainable and versatile in usage. Timber as a building material possesses all these qualities and performs better when compared with most other common building materials in Nigeria. Therefore recommends that a good technical knowledge of timber is necessary for its application. The guiding factors in the choice of timber for a specific constructional work include detailed knowledge of the functions of the structural unit and the specific properties of timber in relation to functions of the structural unit. Adequate information on the magnitude of load, rate of loading and the duration of the load should be ascertained to enhance informed decision on the appropriate timber to be used and timber is also recommended due to its quality of environmental sustainability, physical and aesthetic qualities, workability, and flexibility of space arrangement, dry construction, industrial production and comparative cost effectiveness.
