Effect of Job Content on Employees Commitment to Work in Eksu.

Abstract
The study examined the effect of job content on employees’ commitment to work in Ekiti state university. The specific objectives are to examine the effect of job enrichment, assess the effect of job rotation, and investigate the effect of job autonomy on employee commitment to work in Ekiti State university. The population of the study is comprising the academic and non-academic staff of Ekiti state university. Using Taro Yamane, the sample size of this study will be 272 academic and non-academic staff and the technique with which the selected will be based will be simple random technique. This study employed descriptive analysis conducted in the study include frequency and percentage analyses of the responses collated from the research instrument while simple regression analysis were employed for inferential statistics purpose. The results showed that job enrichment (β = 0.462, p= 0.000 < 0.05) job rotation (β = 0.719, p= 0.000 < 0.05). job autonomy: (β =0.391, p= 0.0000< 0.05). The study concluded that all the proposed variables in the research model were tested and it was found that relationship exists amongst the variables. Based on the finding its recommended. Management of the university should ensure that jobs are continuously enriched so that those repetitive tasks become more challenging and exciting to employees which will facilitate employee commitment. Organizations should consider implementing job rotation programs to enhance employee commitment to work. This can include rotating employees through different departments, roles, or projects to provide new challenges and opportunities for growth. The management of the university can enhance job autonomy by increasing the control among employees over what they are supposed to accomplish. This can be achieved by a more elaborate performance management system whereby realistic target are set.
