School Community Relationship and Administrators’ Job Performance in Public Secondary Schools in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria

Abstract
This study investigated School community relationship and administrators’ job performance in public secondary schools in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria. Four research questions and four null hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. Relevant related theoretical and empirical literature were reviewed and discussed based on the major variables of the study. The correlational research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study comprised all the public secondary school administrators in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra River State. There are 10 public secondary schools in the area with a total of 30 school administrators (10 principals and 20 vice principals) respectively. Census approach method was used to involve all the school and administrators in the study. The instrument for data collection was a questionnaire titled: School Community Relationship and Principals Job Performance Questionnaire” (SCRPJPQ). It was validated by the researcher’s supervisor and two experts in measurement and evaluation unit, faculty of Educational Foundations Studies, University of Calabar. Data analyses was done using Pearson Product Moment Correlation. The result of the analysis revealed that there was a significant relationship between administrators’’ leadership behavior, interpersonal relationship, communication strategy, inclusive decision making strategy and their job performance in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State. Based on the findings of the study, it was concluded that there was a statistically significant relationship between school community relationship and administrators’ job performance in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria. The study recommended among others that administrators’ should demonstrate empathy, resilience, and visionary thinking to inspire and motivate both staff and the community towards common goals attainment.
