Casting and Placing of Interlock in the Department of Civil Engineering Kaduna Polytechnic Mosque Premises

Abstract

ABSTRACT This project proves that interlocking brick is the real beauty to all external decoration design. The projects execution research methodology on Material and Methods of Casting Interlocks, Functions of Water in Concrete, Functions of Fine Aggregate in Concrete, Production of Interlock. The test conducted in the laboratory was; Standard Consistency, Initial and Final Setting, Soundness of Cement, Specific Gravity of Fine Aggregate, Sieve Analysis for Fine Aggregate, Compressive Strength of Concrete. The Result gotten from the Compressive strength of interlocking paver block were found to be 18.4N/mm2 at 7days, 21.3N/mm2 at 14days, 23.1N/mm2 at 21days and 26N/mm2 at 28days. Standard Consistency 30.7%, 1hr, 20mins for initial setting time and 4hrs 27mins as final setting time, Soundness of Cement 6.12mm. Specific Gravity of fine aggregate 4.0 respectively.
