Impact of Business Ethics on the Performance of an Organization

The study examined impact of Business Ethics on the Performance of an Organization. The specific objectives are to examine ethical issues and recognize the approaches available to resolve them; to ascertain what constitutes ethical issues through business firms and the interested parties; and to determine the extent to which the business ethics affect organizational profitability. The source of data is primary source obtained through the administration of structured question to the sampled respondents. The samples size was sixty (60) drawn from population of one thousand, eight hundred and fifty six. Both descriptive and inferential statistical techniques were employed for the analysis of the data, while simple percentage was used to test the hypotheses under study. The result of the study indicate that ethical climate positively affect the performance of firm an also unethical standard enhance the performance of the organization. The study concludes that business ethics are very important issue that facing the both local and international organizations. The aim of this research work was to study the impact of business ethics (respect laws and regulations, justice and impartiality, respect time and perfection, honesty and straightness, and integrity and transparency) on organization performance. Therefore, the researcher recommends that organization should ensure that their corporate structure and culture are aligned with the objective of business ethics in order to enhance performance and growth and adoption of business ethics for the first time by firm should be carried out with sincere mind and not as a means to hurt those who are not fostering the personal interest of the management to the detriment of the other stakeholders.
