Family Involvement in the Education of Children With Visual Impairment During Inflation Period, Case Study Kukabulukiya Special School, Dala Zonal Education Directorate, Kano State

ABSTRACT The study explores the Family Involvement in the Education of Children with Visual Impairment during Inflation Period in Kukabulukiya Special School, Dala Zonal Education Directorate, Kano State. The study employed a descriptive survey designed, with population of 200 students, which comprised 192 students with Hearing Impairment and 8 students with Visual Impairment. A sample of 8 families was drawn from the population using purposive sampling. A Structured Questionnaire was used to collect quantitative data on the Family Involvement in the Education of Children with Visual Impairment during Inflation Period. The findings of the study revealed that majority of family of students with Visual Impairment encouraged their children and contributed in attaining high academic performance. The study also identified that inflation period highly affected family of students with Visual Impairment to provide educational resources for their children. Furthermore, The study found that family of students with Visual Impairment seek support from community organizations for the education their children. The study recommended that school should create a partnership between the teachers and family of students with Visual Impairment such as involving them in education of their children. The study also recommended that community organizations e.t.c should provide additional support for family of students with Visual Impairment and enhance better education of the students with Visual Impairment which includes providing educational resources and financial assistance.
