Evaluation of Human Capital Development as a Strategy for Increasing Productivity in Edo . State (a Case Study of Bua Cement Plc, Okpella)

Abstract
The study examine human capital development as a strategy for increasing productivity in Edo state. The sample size of the study is restricted to a sample of BUA Cement Company listed on the Nigerian Exchange Group (NEX), as at 31" December, 2023. The type of data used for this work is secondary data, while the sources of the data collection included the financial statements. The hypotheses of the study were evaluated by using STATA computer software. The ratios computed (after data collection) were analyzed using the descriptive statistic, correlation matrix and the multi-collinearity test analysis. The study concludes that a comprehensive human capital development strategy incorporating these elements can significantly enhance service quality. Organizations that invest in training, mentoring and human factors are better positioned to boost employee performance, leading to higher productivity and improved service delivery. The study recommend that organizations should invest in regular, structured training programs that keep employees updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices. This continuous learning approach ensures that employees maintain high levels of competency and efficiency, directly translating to improved service quality.
