Abstract

Abstract This study examines the role of the Bank of Agriculture (BOA) in promoting agricultural development within Kura Local Government Area of Kano State, Nigeria. The research focuses on how the bank’s agricultural finance, credit facilities, and agribusiness support programs contribute to farmers’ empowerment, rural development, and agricultural productivity. Data were collected from farmers, cooperative societies, and BOA officials through questionnaires and interviews. Findings reveal that access to BOA credit facilities significantly enhances farmers’ ability to acquire farm inputs, adopt modern farming techniques, and expand production. However, challenges such as insufficient funding, collateral requirements, and bureaucratic delays hinder optimal utilization of these services. The study concludes that strengthening the Bank of Agriculture through increased funding, flexible loan conditions, and effective monitoring will further enhance rural development and ensure sustainable agricultural growth in the region.
