Implementation of a Web-Based Student Transcript Requesting System for Efficient and Secure Academic Records Management

ABSTRACT This project presents the design and Implementation of an Online Student Transcript Management System, addressing challenges in traditional transcript handling, which often lacks efficiency, accessibility, and reliability. The primary objective of the project is to automate the management and retrieval of student transcripts, enhancing data accessibility and security for both students and administrative personnel. The methodology involves implementing a web-based application using HTML, CSS, JavaScript for the frontend, and Flask with Python for the backend, while data storage and retrieval operations are facilitated by a Jsonfile structure. The application incorporates separate user roles: administrators can manage student data and upload transcripts, whereas students can view and download their records. Login credentials are authenticated based on predefined data and access is routed accordingly to dashboards that provide distinct functionality for each user role. Results demonstrate that the system successfully reduces the time required for accessing student information and streamlines transcript management through a user-friendly interface and robust data handling. This automation ensures data integrity, minimizes manual effort, and promotes security by restricting access based on user roles. Conclusively, the project offers a scalable and secure solution that enhances efficiency in academic transcript management and establishes a foundation for further digital transformation in educational recordkeeping systems.
