Assessment of Competencies Possessed by Senior Secondary School Teachers in the Teaching and Learning of Business Education Subjects for Effective Service Delivery in Ikere Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

Abstract
The project work is on the level of competencies possessed by senior secondary school teachers in the teaching and learning of business subject for effective service delivery in Ikere Local Government Area of Ekiti State. Five research objectives five research questions and two hypothesis were developed for the study. The reviewed of literature facilitated this study and also helped the researcher to see what others have done and their findings. Descriptive survey design was used in conducting the study, the population was made up of all business education teachers in all secondary school in Ikere local government. From the population of the study, the researcher randomly selected fifty two (52) respondents. The instrument for data collection was a structured questionnaire. The questionnaire is made up of two sections. Section A was made to obtained personal data of the respondents while Sections B were structured in line with the specific five purposes of the study. The questionnaire contains 20 items, the instrument was validated by three experts. These involved two of the experts were from Business Department. The letter collected was given to the concerned head in each of the selected schools for questionnaire administration and collection of students' results. The data were collected by the researcher with the help of research assistants. The retrieved copies were used for data analysis. The data collected was analysed using mean and standard deviation. The mean and standard deviation will be used to answer the research questions while t-test statistics will be used to test the null hypothesis at 0.05 level of significance at relevant degree of freedom with the use of statistical package for social sciences (SPSS). The study was significant as to note the various areas both teachers and students are not getting enough motivation to boost teaching and learning of business. It was recommended that Government should organize seminars and workshops for teachers of business in the areas of the identified competencies not possessed by them.
