Abstract

The menu design and food choice at a restaurant or Cafe play a critical role in attracting customers and captivating them to come back. Characterized menu design idea as the invention of an attractive menu card which does not only supplies information but also guide customers to concentrate on the items that the food service establishment want to sell more. These study clarify the vital roles of menu design in restaurants. There has been a growing number of verifiable studies on menu design and it union with item choice and that gives essential basis for comprehending the fact. in the strive to bring the various menu design characteristics together. Food choice is the selection and consumption of food and beverages, considering what, how, when and with whom people eat as well as other aspects of their food and eating behavior. Data was obtained from 60 respondents and was analyzed based on the use of simple percentage. from The result reveal culture and religion background of the customer should be considered in planning and preparing a menu, Respondents highly agreed that the categories of dishes on the menu should be easy to identify, menu design significantly influence customers choice of food in Saatof Hotel and Suite Lokoja Kogi State. Recommendation: the description on the menu should be simple for easy and quick understanding.
