Abstract

Abstract
This study focused on the investigation of the availability and utilization of instructional
materials for teaching primary school pupils in Gwandu local government education
Authority, Kebbi state. The study has four objectives, and four research questions. A
questionnaire was formulated and used to collect data from respective primary school
H/M and LGEA officers, primary school Teachers and Pupils. The data was analyzed
using Descriptive of frequency count and percentage. The study revealed that there is
need for instructional materials to be utilized and maintained properly in order to make
teaching and learning more effective.. The researchers recommended that, non-
governmental organizations, community organizations NGOs, {P.T.A} and
philanthropist individuals in the society should provide financial support in order to
achieve the aims and objectives of having a well train teachers, who have the skills of
acquisitions to maintained standard in our various primary schools in Gwandu local
government education Authority, Kebbi State. The study recommended that both state
and local government should put more effort in providing instructional materials for
use in teaching primary school pupils. Also workshops should be organised for
teachers for more acquisition of skills on the use of instructional materials in teaching
among others.
