Abstract

ABSTRACT
This study examined the impact of social media influencer on justice seeking for the death of Mohbad (a study of Lens Polytechnic Offa). The objectives of this study were to know the level of exposure to SMI’s campaign on the death of Mohbad amongst students of Lens Polytechnic Offa, to evaluate the effectiveness of SMI’s campaigns in prompting action from authorities, influencing public opinion, and facilitating progress in the quest for justice, to assess the influence of SMI in raising awareness and mobilizing support for justice-seeking efforts on Mohbad’s death, to examine the strategies employed by SMI in seeking justice for the death of Mohbad, as perceived by Students of Lens Polytechnic Offa and to determine continuous efforts of SMI in providing updates on circumstances that surrounds Mohbad’s death as time passes by. The study adopted quantitative research design while survey research method was adopted. Questionnaire was the instrument used to elicit data from the respondents. Taro Yamane model was used to determine the sample size of respondents. Data gathered for the purpose of this study were presented and analysed using simple percentage and frequency distribution table. Findings of the study revealed that students of Lens Polytechnic Offa were highly exposed to social media influencer’s campaign and messages on the death of Mohbad, respondents believed that social media influencers is effective in the course of justice-seeking for the death of Mohbad to a significant extent, social media influencers persuade people to speak up, improve police efficiency, called people’s attention to various issues that related to the death of Mohbad, social media influencer helps in raising awareness and
