Assesment of the Level of Compliance to Quality Assurance Among Radiographers in Public and Private Hospital in Calabar, Cross River State

Abstract
The research was centred on the assessment of the level of compliance to quality assurance among radiographers in public and private hospitals in Calabar, cross river state. The purpose of the study was to assess the level of compliance to quality assurance among radiographers in public and private hospitals. A cross sectional research design was adopted for the study. The research study was conducted in various radiological facilities within Calabar metropolis and comprised of radiographers and interns practising in the selected facility within Calabar metropolis. A sample size of 30 respondents was adopted for the study. The data was analysed using descriptive statistics to assess the level of compliance. The findings of the study revealed a high level of awareness to quality assurance practices among radiographers in public and private hospitals in Calabar, cross river state with 76% of the respondent strongly agreeing to been aware of the quality assurance measures, with 3% expressing a neutral stance. Further findings revealed that 73% of the total respondents agreed that participation in workshops and training related to quality assurance has helped in the accuracy and reliability of radiographic imaging while 3% disagreed. Also 73% of the respondent agree to the fact that adherence to acceptance test and commissioning procedures contribute to the overall quality of radiographic imaging, 23.3% strongly agree to this fact and 3.3% are neutral. In summary, this research work sheds lights on the multifaceted landscape of awareness, adherence and commitment to quality assurance among radiographers in Calabar, cross river state, indicating a positive overall trend observed in these aspects. While the majority shows strong adherence to established guidelines (86.6%), pockets of diversity and disagreement (3%) suggest the need for targeted efforts to understand contributing factors. The study emphasizes the importance of addressing and recognizing this diversity, calling for further exploration and targeted interventions to establish a more uniform and robust quality assurance framework in healthcare institutions in Calabar, cross river state.
