Abstract
This study investigates the effects of religious conflict and societal anathema between the Muslim Ummah and traditional worshippers in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. It explores how historical, political, and cultural dynamics have shaped inter-religious relationships. Using a mixed qualitative and quantitative approach with 100 respondents, the research reveals that traditional worshippers face significant marginalization, discrimination, and stigmatization. These challenges erode cultural heritage and strain social cohesion. The study highlights the need for policy reform, interfaith dialogue, and recognition of traditional religious institutions. It concludes that inclusive governance, cultural preservation, and tolerance are essential for sustainable peace in Ilorin and similar communities.
