Abstract

This research work focused on Identification of collaboration skills needed by secretaries for effective job performance in contemporary business organization (case study of international breweries, Ilesha and ministry of finance, Osogbo, Osun State). The population of the study comprised fifty (50) confidential secretaries. Three research questions guided the research work: (1) What are the interpersonal skills needed by secretaries for effective job performance in contemporary business organization? (2) What are the leadership skills needed by secretaries for effective job performance in contemporary business organization? (3) What are the communication skills needed by secretaries for effective job performance in contemporary business organization? Questionnaire was distributed by hand and the data was analyzed through simple mean method. The findings revealed that interpersonal skills enhance secretaries job performance in contemporary offices. It was concluded that interpersonal skills has improve secretaries job performance and also secretaries need to be friendly and must be patient. It was recommended that the potential secretaries should possess communication skills because this will enable them to manage colleagues and members of management more effectively.
