Design and Implementation of Invigilation Roster System (a Case Study of Federal College of Education (technical), Gusau) Zamfara State

ABSTRACT

This project titled DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF INVIGILATION ROSTER (a case study of FEDERAL COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (TECHNICAL),GUSAU) address the complexities involved in assigning invigilators to examination sessions in FEDERAL COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (TECHNICAL), GUSAU. Traditionally, invigilator scheduling is a manual process, prone to errors, inefficiencies, and potential conflicts, which can compromise the integrity of the examination process. This project focuses on developing a web-based system that automates the allocation of invigilation duties, using a structured approach to manage data on invigilators, examination schedules, venues, and time slots.
The system is built with a database backend that securely stores details in four core tables: staff, timetable, allocation, and login. It allows administrators to log in, access, and manage schedules efficiently while minimizing the risk of overlapping assignments or human errors. Key features include real-time updates, conflict resolution, and a user-friendly interface that enables easy navigation and data management.
By implementing this automated roster, the project contributes to a more organized, transparent, and efficient examination management process, reducing the administrative burden on staff and enhancing the overall examination experience for both college and students. The system provides a scalable solution that can be adapted to various academic settings, ultimately improving operational efficiency and promoting fair invigilation practices.
