Abstract

ABSTRACT
The study examined the impact of office environment on the job performance of office
workers’ in Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma. In the modern era, organizations are facing
several challenges due to the dynamic nature of the environment. Four research questions
guided the study and a related literature was reviewed. Survey research design was used for
the study. Simple random sampling was adopted by the researcher to choose a sample size of
110. The population of this study is 180. The instrument used to elicit responses from the
participants was the questionnaire. Data were gathered from the primary and secondary
sources. The simple percentage method was the statistical tool used to analyze the data for the
study. It was concluded that secretaries are the life wire of any organization and their impact
cannot be over emphasized, secretary’s performance has been found to have favorable
impacts on employee attitude, commitment and productivity even also on the efficiency of
the managers. It was recommended that secretaries should not be restricted from exercising
their full freedom like other workers in the institution, secretaries should be allowed to
participate in the decision making and to air their views without restrictions for the growth of
the establishment.
