Effects of Work Schedule and Emotional Intelligence on Job Satisfaction Among Police Officers.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to examine the effects of work schedule and emotional intelligence on job satisfaction among Police officers in Delta State. In other to achieved this objective. Two research hypotheses were raised to guide the study. The descriptive survey design was adopted. The stratified sampling technique was used to get the sample size. A total of 200 respondents were used for the study. The research instrument was a self-structured questionnaire having 16 items. The Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) statistical tool was used for the analysis and testing of the stated hypotheses. The findings revealed that: there is a significant difference in Job Satisfaction of shift workers and non shift workers among Police officers, and there is a significant difference in job satisfaction of police officers who have high emotional intelligence and those who have low emotional intelligence. It was concluded that both emotional intelligence and work schedule have great influence on job satisfaction. The study recommends that there is need for the Minister of Labour to devise a productive and effective policy promising to the employees prosperity and organizational productivity.
