Influence of Information and Communication Technology on Secretarial Efficiency in Contemporary Office (case Study of Nigerian Bottling Company, Ibadan, Oyo State)

Abstract
This project work examined the Influence of Information and Communication and Technology on Secretarial efficiency in contemporary office, (Case study of Nigerian Bottling Company, Ibadan, Oyo State). Descriptive survey research design was used for the study. The population of the study comprised 16 confidential secretaries. Four (4) research questions guided the study: (1) To what extent does Information and Communication Technology enhance secretaries’ productivity in word processing? (2) To what extent does Information and Communication Technology enhance secretaries’ productivity in desktop publishing?(3) What To what extent does Information and Communication Technology enhance secretaries’ productivity in record management? (4) To what extent does Information and Communication Technology enhance secretaries’ productivity in meeting management? Data was collected through the use of questionnaire. The data collected was analyzed using simple mean method. The findings revealed that ICT has influenced the efficiency of confidential secretaries in word processing, desktop publishing, meeting management and records keeping. It was concluded that ICT improves the efficiency of confidential secretaries’. It was recommended that confidential secretaries should fully be involved in managing the secretarial affairs of their organizations
