Formulation of Medicated Ointment Using Neem Bark Ectract

Abstract

This study was to formulate and evaluate an ointment incorporating neem bark extract, a
natural remedy known for its medicinal properties, particularly in wound healing,
antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory effects. The neem bark extract was carefully prepared
through solvent extraction, followed by incorporation into a suitable ointment base. Various
formulations were developed using different concentrations of the extract to determine the
optimal formulation for efficacy, stability, and skin compatibility.Phytochemical screening
and Anti-fungal al tests were conducted to assess the anti - fungal properties of the
ointment.The results revealed that the neem bark extract ointment demonstrated significant
anti- fungal activity making it a promising candidate for therapeutic skin care applications.
