The Influence of Tiktok on Nigeria Youth Behaviour (a Study of Gateway (ict) Polytechnic Students)

Abstract
This project examined the influence of Tiktok on Nigeria youth behavior (a study of
Gateway (ICT) Polytechnic students. The advanced and improved usage of social media
platforms such as Tiktok has become a worldwide phenomenon for quite some time.
Though it all started has been a hobby for several computer literates individual has
changed to become a social norm and existence-style for students around the world. The
study was anchored on Diffusion of Innovation Theory and Uses and Gratification
Theory (UGT). The study adopted the descriptive survey design. One hundred (100)
respondents were selected through simple random technique. Findings revealed that
Students' addictiveness to social nerwork has a significant influence o n their academic
performance; Student's exposure to social media network has significant influence on
students' academic performance. Therefore, the study recommended that students should
be educated on the influence of Social media on their academic performance
