Abstract
Abstract
Information about solar energy usage in residential buildings, capacity and projects is lacking. This has made its solar integration status quite difficult to assess. Solar integration was classified into grid connected, off-grid hybrid and stand-alone systems. Findings from study reveals that grid connected and off-grid hybrid solar project were not received by residential buildings in Nigeria. Most of the solar systems projects in residential buildings are either stand-alone mini-grid or off-grid power applications. This study aims to analyze the usage of solar photovoltaic panels usage in compliance with Architectural Design. The study adopted the use of questionnaire and observation method to elicits responses from 50 household’s respondent out of a population of 200 households of Tudun Wada kaduna whom are using Solar PV. Information obtained from this research indicates that the level of awareness of Solar Photovoltaic Energy in Tudun Wada Area is not as low as was assumed. There might still be some work left in enlightening the whole concept to the residents, Architects, and other Design Professionals can addresses the Architectural aspects of solar PV integration in residential buildings in Tudun Wada Area of Kaduna State, this research seeks to contribute to this emerging field by analyzing the architectural implications of solar PV integration in residential buildings and offering recommendations for optimizing its usage and impact in the built environment.
