Abstract
This research involved the development and performance evaluation of a 5 kVA photovoltaic (PV) solar system, focusing on optimizing battery configurations to enhance energy efficiency and system reliability. The study employed a series-parallel arrangement of deep-cycle batteries to achieve a balanced voltage and amp-hour capacity, resulting in a configuration of 25.4V at 440Ah. Comprehensive experimental evaluations demonstrate that this configuration effectively doubles the voltage while significantly increasing energy storage capacity, ensuring robust power delivery even during periods of low solar irradiance. Comparative analyses with conventional configurations and existing studies corroborate the efficacy of the proposed design, highlighting improvements in scalability, user safety, and maintenance efficiency. However, challenges such as extended charging times and environmental sensitivity are identified, indicating areas for further optimization. The findings underscore the potential of the 5 kVA PV solar system as a cost-effective and reliable renewable energy solution, contributing to the advancement of sustainable energy technologies.
