Abstract
ABSTRACT
The need for innovative and multifunctional outdoor structures has increased significantly due to urbanization, environmental awareness and changing family lifestyles. Outdoor service structures now play an essential role in providing comfort, safety, and convenience for families engaging in recreational and community-based activities. This project, titled "Design and Fabrication of Modern Family for Outdoor Services," focuses on developing a versatile and sustainable family-oriented outdoor facility that blends functionality with modern aesthetics. The proposed design prioritizes portability, durability, and adaptability, ensuring its suitability for various outdoor settings such as parks, picnic grounds, event spaces, and camping sites.
The first phase of the project involved a detailed study of user requirements and environmental constraints. Emphasis was placed on understanding the unique needs of families, including safety, ease of use and adequate space for social interaction. The design also incorporates features that allow for modular expansion, enabling customization for different family sizes and outdoor functions.
In the fabrication phase, a combination of lightweight yet robust materials such as mild steel, HDF wood and weather-resistant coatings were used to ensure durability while maintaining portability. Innovative fabrication technique which is welding was employed to guarantee structural stability. Attention was also given to eco-friendly manufacturing processes and the inclusion of sustainable elements such as solar-powered lighting and rainwater collection systems to support green living.
To validate the functionality and performance of the design, prototype testing was carried out under various outdoor conditions. The tests evaluated factors such as load-bearing capacity, weather resistance, ease of assembly, and user comfort. Feedback from selected user groups was collected and used to refine the design further, ensuring that it meets both aesthetic and practical expectations. This iterative process allowed the team to create a final product that is not only visually appealing but also functionally superior.
