Abstract
This project involves the cadastral layout survey of a parcel of land located behind the CIBN Hall, directly opposite the School of Environmental Studies Complex, within the campus of Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa. The layout survey was undertaken as part of a student final year project. The cadastral layout serves as a crucial framework for effective land administration, infrastructure planning, and physical development within the institution. It offers a precise and organized representation of land parcels, access roads, and open spaces. The primary objectives of the layout include promoting efficient land use planning by providing a structured approach to land allocation. This ensures that designated spaces for staff housing, academic buildings, student hostels, and recreational facilities are appropriately distributed. Additionally, the layout supports the development of infrastructure by serving as a guide for constructing roads, drainage systems, and utility networks such as electricity and water supply. This fosters proper connectivity, accessibility, and systematic expansion across the campus. The layout design comprises 88 plots, each with an average size of 30m by 30m, with road widths of 10.00 meters. The total land area covered by the survey is 10.00 hectares. The survey was referenced using two existing control points SUR 5 and SUR 7 within the project area. Data collection was carried out with a Sokkia Total Station, and the field data was subsequently processed and analyzed using AutoCAD 2009, culminating in the production of a composite layout plan at a scale of 1:5000. The report encompasses key aspects such as reconnaissance, monumentation, field procedures, data analysis, challenges encountered during the process, and final conclusions. It is recommended that the institution adopts and implements the cadastral layout plan for future land development to prevent unauthorized land use and ensure orderly campus expansion.
