Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study investigates the impact of deposit money bank credits on the economic growth of United Bank Yakubu Gowon way Kaduna, exploring how bank lending contributes to key economic indicators such as Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth, industrial development, and employment generation. Through an analysis of deposit money bank activities over recent years, the study assesses the extent to which credits provided to various economic sectors have supported growth and economic stability. Findings reveal that deposit money banks play a crucial role in financing productive activities and stimulating economic development, although challenges like credit risk, high-interest rates, and regulatory constraints sometimes limit their effectiveness. The study concludes by suggesting policy improvements and strategies for banks to optimize their credit delivery, which is essential for fostering sustainable growth. This research underscores the importance of a stable banking sector to support Nigeria’s economic resilience and long-term development goals.
