Abstract
Abstract:
This research examines the modern materials used in repairing and maintaining Hausa houses. It focuses on how traditional Hausa architecture has evolved due to the influence of modernization, technology, and changing social lifestyles. The study highlights the shift from locally sourced materials such as mud, straw, and wood to modern items like cement, paint, tiles, glass, aluminum, and plastic. Data were gathered through interviews, observations, and literature reviews to analyze the types, uses, and cultural significance of these materials. The research concludes that while modern materials enhance durability and aesthetics, they also reduce the traditional identity and environmental harmony once associated with Hausa architecture.
