Managing a Stage Play With Limited Resources: a Study of Yemi Atanda’s One Step a Milestone (a Pantomime)

Abstract

Stage play production can be a challenging endeavor, especially when faced with limited resources. This study explores the management strategies employed in producing Yemi Atanda's One Step a Milestone, a pantomime that achieved success despite resource constraints. This study employed a qualitative research method gathering datas from books, journals, and library documents and primary data from an interviews with Dr Yemi Atanda. The study revealed that Atanda employed creative management strategies, including resource optimization, collaboration, and innovative problem-solving. The production's success can be attributed to these strategies, which enabled the team to deliver a high-quality performance despite constraints.The study recommends that stage play producers facing similar resource challenges adopt the above to achieve success in their productions. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that successful stage play production is possible even with limited resources, through effective management and creative problem-solving. The findings contribute to the body of knowledge on stage play production management and provide, valuable insights for producers, directors and scholars.
