Abstract
SUMMARY
Background; The assessment of oral ulcer activity in RAS could be better performed by using PROMs which give important information about the clinical condition from the patient’s perspective. The Composite Index (CI) as a PROM was specifically developed for oral ulcer activity to evaluate how ulcer symptoms and their management protocols affect the patient’s life.
Objectives; The study was aimed at assessing the outcome of the reported cases of oral ulcers at Aminu kano teaching Hospital, Kano. The study involves the method of diagnosis, following different parameters such as, BMI, Status of Neutrophils/ Lymphocytes Ratio in Patients with Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis and comparing them to the PROM
Method; The study is a cross-sectional study utilizing the composite index questionnaire, patients’ demographics and selected hematologic parameters. The obtained data is then entered into Microsoft excel, then it will be subjected to descriptive statistical analysis in the form of frequencies, cross tabulations, and percentages using the SPSS version 20 software.
