Abstract
The increasing demand for secure and efficient access control systems has driven the development of smart automation technologies. This project presents the design and implementation of an IoT-based gate control system aimed at enhancing security, convenience, and energy efficiency in residential and small-scale commercial settings. The system integrates an ESP32 microcontroller for processing and Wi-Fi connectivity, an ultrasonic sensor for motion detection, a servo motor for precise gate actuation, and the RemoteXY app for real-time remote monitoring and control. Additional components, such as LEDs, provide visual feedback, while a battery-powered design ensures portability and reliability. Testing results confirm the system's responsiveness, with accurate object detection within a 2 cm to 400 cm range, smooth gate operation, and minimal delay in remote commands (1-2 seconds). This study demonstrates the feasibility of a cost-effective, scalable IoT-based gate control system, addressing the limitations of traditional manual gates while promoting secure and user-friendly access control solutions for modern environments.
