Abstract

The study was designed to conduct a comparative analysis of cardiovascular parameters (specifically blood pressue and oxygen saturation) among menopausal and non-menopausal adult females to enhance our understanding of the cardiovascular changes associated with menopause and their potential implications for cardiovascular disease prevention and management. The comparative study involved twenty (20) consenting adult female participants, including 10 menopausal women and 10 non-menopausal women, recruited from Ekpoma metropolitan, Edo State. The Blood pressure and oxygen saturation level for each participant was measured using standard techniques. Independent sample t-test was used to compare ECG parameters between study groups, done with GraphPad prism version 8.0.1(244).The results were expressed as means + SEM. P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. The results showed that the mean values of Systolic/Diastolic pressure in the non-menopausaland menopausal adult female groups were 118.57.969/74.0$6.792 and 150.5$7.969/89.20$6.792 respectively. While that of Oxygen saturation level in the non-menopausal andmenopausal adult female groups were 94.101.416 and 96.80 1.416respectively.The resultsrevealed a statistically significant difference at 95% confidence level (p
