Prevalence of Intestinal Protozoans and Geohelminths and Risk Factors Among Primary School Students Attending Kalgo Model Primary School

Abstract
study investigate the prevalence, risk factors, and consequences of intestinal protozoa and geohelminths infections among primary school children attending Kalgo Model Primary School. A cross-sectional survey was conducted collecting stool from 50 children of age 3-10 years the sample were analyzed using standard parasitological techniques to identify protozoa and geohelminths. Social demographic data, hygiene practice and environmental condition were accessed through structured questionnaire. Results indicated a high prevalence of intestinal infections with protozoa and geohelminths risk factors such as: inadequate hand washing, poor sanitation and contaminated water sources were found to significantly contribute to infection rate. The findings highlights the needs for improved hygiene education, better sanitation facilities and regular deworming programs in schools to reduce the burden of intestinal parasitic infections in the community.
