Capacity Building and Good Governance in Nigeria Public Sector

Abstract
ABSTRACTThe relevance of the good governance theory is based on its ability to justify that developmentperformance must go hand-in-hand with a public service that is efficient, judicial system thatis reliable and an administration that is transparent and accountable to its citizens. The study isaim to achieve the following; to examine the relationship between capacity building and goodgovernance in Afijio Local Government; examine the effect of capacity building on servicedelivery in Afijio Local Government and assess the roles of capacity building on goodgovernance in Nigeria. The study adopted survey research design to elicit information throughthe use of structure. The population sample was randomly drawn from among the staffs ofAfijio Local Government. A total number of fifty (50) respondents took part in the study. Theresearcher develops a questionnaire on administrative justice and good governance in Nigeriawhich was used to collect data from respondents. The data collected were analyzed by usingStatistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The results of the findings shows that there issignificant relationship between capacity building and good governance in Afijio LocalGovernment and capacity building as positive effect on service delivery in Afijio LocalGovernment. This work wants to conclude on the note that sustainability of capacity buildingin the public sector must be all embracing. It has to take cognizance of human and materialresources for it to endure.
