Artificial Intelligence and Human Resource Management Performance of the Nigerian Banking Industry, Lagos State

The study examines the impact of artificial intelligence on human resource management performance. The objective of the study was to examine if the components of AI (Machine Learning, Natural Language processing, Predictive Analytics, AI-driven Automation and Robotic process Automation) influence human resource management performance in the Nigerian banking industry, Lagos State.The study adopted a survey research design, the population of the study consisted of human resource employees in five banks,in the Nigerian banking industry Lagos State (United Bank of Africa PLC, Access Holdings PLC, First Bank of Nigeria PLC, Zenith Bank PLC and Guaranty Trust Bank (GT) PLC constituting the population size to be 245 of human resource employees. The questionnaire was distributed to one hundred (100) human resource employees, which were selected randomly from the five banks. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis with the aid of the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) 24.0.The empirical results of the study revealed that there is a significant relationship between Artificial intelligence and human resource management performance. The study recommends that AI adoption should be encouraged to improve human resource employees' performance in the Nigerian banking industry, Lagos State. The study further recommended that human resource employees should be motivated to use artificial intelligence to improve and increase their recruitment and talent, performance management and evaluation, employee engagement and communication, learning and development and predictive analytics for workforce planning in the Nigerian banking industry, Lagos State.
