Abstract

This study examines the impact of drug abuse on the academic performance of undergraduate students at the University of Maiduguri. The research investigates common types of drugs abused, causes of drug abuse, and its effects on students’ concentration, attendance, and academic results. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to selected students, and the findings revealed that drug abuse significantly affects academic performance negatively. The study recommends continuous awareness campaigns and strict enforcement of anti-drug policies within the university community.
