Colonialism and Benin Cultural System

Abstract
This project work explained the impact of colonialism on Benin Traditional Beliefs System using the Holy Aruosa as a case study. The researchers dug into the historical origin of the Benin people,, the Benin contact with the European and ancient traditional beliefs of the Benin people. The project analysed the concept of traditional religion, the origin of Holy Aruosa as a traditional religion in Benin and them missionary activities and its effects on Benin traditional system. The projects also compared the Aruosa religion to the ancestral veneration in Africa. The researcher research on the impact of colonialism on Benin Traditional Belief, one of which was the introduction of Latin Christianity. The research project is very rich with useful information and analysis.
