Abstract
This study examined the factors that influence the growth of cultism and its effects on student academic achievement at Nigerian tertiary institutions. The study was conducted at Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti Ila-Orangun Campus, and Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun. The study's population was made up of higher-education students. A sample of 100 respondents was drawn using a simple random sampling technique. A self-constructed questionnaire was used to collect data. The validity and reliability of the instrument were established. The instrument's reliability was determined at 0.6 through a test retes
