Effective Management of Hospital Waste in Owerri Municipal.

Abstract
ABSTRACTThe effective management of hospital waste has been considered as an efficient application to achieving a safe and hygienic hospital environment. The study was investigated by analyzing the generation, collection and disposal method adopted by the hospitals studied. Analysis of the inadequacies in the hospital waste management process was also investigated. The results showed that the improper control and handling of the waste generated from hospital, caused Nosocomial infections to the patients who stay in the hospital for a long time. The hospital environment was also affected with waste that were littered around the ward from the findings, the effective management of hospital waste depends on the strict adherence to a well-designed waste management plan.
