Abstract
Abstract The art of controlling, harmonizing, planning and organizing human and material resources in every organization has generated target output and appreciation. Similarly, the processes of producing a play in the theatre rests in effective co-ordination of the available resources to the performance. This study is an examination of the stage management processes of a production in an educational theatre. Using the artistic and literary methodology, the study documents the stage management experience of Ozidi as directed by Jumbo Tamunoenyi Godsgift in the Rivers State University Theatre(Amphitheater). Lack of rehearsal space, poor funding, clash of productions, insecurity, and indiscipline among actors, lack of research materials, lack of production materials and health facilities are some of the challenges affecting the stage management in an educational theatre. The study recommends a review in academic program accommodating stage management as a course, financial supports from the administration and imbibing research culture on scholars in the field.
