Abstract
This study examined the effectiveness of recycling outlets in reducing household waste in Oyo State, Nigeria. A descriptive research design was adopted, and data were collected from selected recycling firms — Freee Recycle Limited, Planet 3R, and GJC Recycling. The findings revealed that recycling initiatives significantly contribute to environmental conservation through pollution reduction and resource conservation. Economically, recycling improves cost savings and creates job opportunities, though its employment impact remains modest. The study concludes that household recycling plays a vital role in achieving environmental sustainability and promoting a circular economy in Nigeria.
