Survey of Lice Infestation in Sheep and Goats in University of Maiduguri

Abstract
This study investigates the prevalence of lice infestation in sheep and goats within the University of Maiduguri staff quarters. The research aims to determine the prevalence and severity of lice infestation, identify common lice species, and assess infestation levels and potential risk factors. A total of 49 sheep and 50 goats were used for the sample, and lice specimen were collected and identified using microscope. The study provide valuable insights into the prevalence and characteristics of lice infestation in sheep and goats in the study area, highlighting the need for effective control measure to prevent the spread of lice and promote animal health and productivity.
