Abstract

ABSTRACTDespite modest improvements in child health outcomes during the 20th century, infant mortality rates remain unacceptably high in Nigeria. Infant mortality rate in SPECIALIST HOSPITAL OF BAUCHI STATE is a major concern as the State records has increase from 2000 to 2020. The research aimed to analyze infant mortality rate and the association of the twenty years result in specialist Hospital, Bauchi State. The objectives were to determine the level and examine the infant mortality rate from 2000-2020; examine how it affect the population growth rate in the study area. Data collected at Bauchi specialist Hospital from 2000 to 2020 were analyzed to assess the rate of infant mortality. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, bar plots, and chi-square test of independency. The descriptive statistics showed the movement of data while the chi-square showed that there is differences from 2000 to 2020.
