Abstract

ABSTRACTWith increase in world population, there is a need to improve methods deployed on animal production especially the livestock farming. The animal production should move from conventional management practices to computerizing era by introducing the advance technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) to improve productivity along with animal welfare. Hence, this research designed and developed an end-to-end IoT system with the vision to revolutionize livestock management that would enhance health monitoring and precise positioning tracking of the livestocks. The system developed incorporates a set of sensors to monitor the significant health parameters, like heart rate and external environmental condition to identify anomalies that may signal health issues. It also track movements of the livestocks in real-time. With the use of technologies such as GPS, biosensors, and environmental monitoring equipment, the system allows farmers to get up-to-date information about their livestock, which enhance data-driven decisions and facilitating timely interventions respond on the livestock location and health monitoring. The study not only identifies the huge advantages of IoT in the management of livestock but also addresses integration problems of systems and economic constraints faced by small and medium-sized farms. This research enhance precision agriculture and promotes sustainable farming practices in line with the requirements of the current agriculture industry.
