Abstract
AbstractThis project titled “Recycling of Jeans Scraps in the Production of Street Wears” focuses on transforming waste denim materials into functional and fashionable garments. The study explores how discarded jeans scraps can be creatively repurposed to produce unique street wear designs that reflect sustainability and innovation in fashion. Using an experimental design approach, jeans offcuts were collected, sorted, and combined through patchwork and topstitching techniques to construct two street wear outfits — a female Jean scrap jacket and baggy trousers (size 12), and a male Jean scrap jacket and baggy trousers (chest size 38). The production process involved fabric layout, cutting, joining, pressing, and finishing to achieve comfort, durability, and modern street style aesthetics. The project demonstrates that recycling denim scraps reduces textile waste and production costs while encouraging environmental sustainability. It also shows that creative use of recycled materials can meet contemporary fashion demands without compromising quality. The study recommends that designers incorporate recycling techniques in modern apparel production to promote eco-friendly practices and innovative street fashion.
