Abstract
One of the most common malignancies affecting women is breast cancer. It’s now the mostcommon and second leading cause of deaths among women. Blacks have the highest incidence of cancer compared to whites and this is attributed to the cultural, social , behavioral, environmental, education and economic factors rather than racial or genetic deposition for cancer. This study assessed the reported cases of breast cancer. The main objective is to examine the relationship between patients' demographic and clinical characteristics (such as age, tumor stage, and surgery type) and their survival outcomes. The data was analyzed using R statistical package. The statistical techniques used are the Log-rank test, Survival curve and Cox Regression model. From the analysis it was discovered that the survival status of the patient(s) depends on the category of breast cancer, age, Surgery type and treatment modalities. And for the Cox hazard regression model, we generated a model which is of the form :Model : h(t) = hot exp (2.1324 elderly + 3.2852 senile + 0.7680 breast conserving + 1.5308 stage I + 2.3634 stage II + 3.3678 stage III + 0.6498 chemotheraphy)
