Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study explores the historical, theological, and administrative dimensions of St. Michael
Anglican Church, located on Katsina Road in Kaduna, Nigeria. Founded in 1919 by the
Church Missionary Society (CMS), the church has played a pivotal role in both the spiritual
and social development of the region. The study traces the church's origins, examining the
challenges faced by early missionaries, its strategic location, and its evolving role within the
community. It also delves into the theological foundations of the church, focusing on its
adherence to Anglican doctrine, sacramental practices, and liturgical worship. Additionally,
the study reviews the church's mission statement, which emphasizes evangelism, spiritual
growth, and community service. The administrative structure of St. Michael Anglican Church,
including its transition to indigenous leadership, is analysed to understand its operational
evolution. The research highlights how the church has integrated traditional religious values
with modern management practices to maintain its relevance and impact over the decades.
This comprehensive examination provides insights into the enduring influence of St. Michael
Anglican Church in Kaduna, both as a religious institution and a cornerstone of community
life.
