Abstract
This study examines the level of compliance with ethical standards in selected documentary films. Guided by the Deontological Ethical Theory, the research uses content analysis to evaluate how filmmakers handle truth, representation, consent, and privacy. A sample of documentaries was analyzed based on ethical parameters like objectivity, respect for subjects, and fairness. Findings reveal that while most documentaries strive for honesty and public interest, some fall short in informed consent and balanced representation. The study recommends stronger ethical training for filmmakers and strict adherence to professional codes of conduct.
